Re: Lurker's Lair
I found out something about Your Chronicle that I didn't realize before. Stats you gain from gluttony presist between dark rituals. Because the satiety bar resets, I assumed the buffs did too, but it's only the capacity and the multiplier based on it that's really an issue.
Slightly funny bit too. The single most powerful food item in the game, considering that there's 3 different steaks, a meat and dessert festival, ice cream, wine, and a few gourmet type of things, is none of those, but rather a simple anchovy sandwich.
Of course, actually making an anchovy sandwich is a bitch and a half, because of the requirements to access the needed ingredients, but yeah.

I'm guessing there's no supermarket and you need to fish like a school of those anchovy yourself?Darkened Angel wrote:actually making an anchovy sandwich is a bitch and a half, because of the requirements to access the needed ingredients, but yeah.

Re: Lurker's Lair
To make an anchovy sandwich, you need bread, which is easy enough, just tedious because you gotta have lumber to make the firewood to cook the wheat you harvest to make it, fish, which besides getting yourself, the Phantom Whale generates over time on its own if you have it in your party, 2 things of salt, which you can only get by farming the Rock Golem, and 4 wind, which shouldn't be an issue at that point but requires getting to a point where you have a decent amount and the regen to not keep running out.
Between my 3 shortcut slots, I'd still have to manually do part of it myself every few minutes because of how many steps it takes.
The only way to avoid the hassle is to just keep doing farmwork in the early part of the game before you set out from your home town. You get an anchovy sandwich every time you complete the task, which you can just set it and forget it for a while and do something else, while checking gluttony's auto eat for it. I did that but didn't realize how much it paid off at the time, because there's still a lot of the mechanics in the game that don't make sense to me because it does weird math that I can't begin to understand the formula of.
On the plus side, I'm close to affording another party slot, which means I'll be able to get the passive buffs of more monsters at once.

I'd just settle for a steak then. Passive buffs are good, I like stuff that just works and doesn't require a college degree to use.

Yeah, I'm just farming pork right now. Pork by itself boosts physical attack damage, and you can farm it easily by fighting the orc. I've got that looping while gluttony's got pork on auto eat so it takes care of itself.
I got the extra party slot now, and there's 2 more to get when I can afford them.
As for needing a degree to use things, as complicated as this game can be sometimes, you should try working with Starcraft 2's level editor. On the plus side, you can do damn near anything you can think of with it. On the down side, you practically gotta know how to be a game developer to make it all happen the way you want.

I've got a few days off thanks to Ascension Day. One mandatory day on Thursday and one day of my own to bridge the gap. Nice!

Tic-80 games are interesting. I played through one that was an Indiana Jones text adventure. That took a lot of trial and error because there's a lot of confusing parts with little to no guidance, plus there's stuff that doesn't do anything, parts you don't need to deal with, and the biggest puzzle is perhaps the most insanely trivial part in the game.
Then you've got ones that look like they were done professionally and would've been around back in the early PC gaming days. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot of really good ones like that. Some are total crap, and most are just mildly entertaining for a few minutes.
At least they're all good for keeping busy if you've got nothing to do at the time.

Re: Lurker's Lair
In some slightly comical news, I made the rough draft for a concept for a DnD char that's an amazon barbarian that uses snu snu as an actual weapon, crushing pelvises in the pursuit of trying to find a worthy potential mate that can survive her strength.
There's a lot of info, but that's the summarized version.

Maybe you should get tested for covid anyway, despite the vaccine. It protects for 95% or so which is a lot but still less than 100%.Saturn Celeste wrote:Still sick but it is getting better. Yeah, a vaccine is just increased resistance, not full-blown immunity. It might be a good idea to get tested just to be certain.

Re: Lurker's Lair
Hi! My son did get tested; we didn't have covid. I still have some coughing but am better! I haven't been online much because my son and I have been building an RPG game using the Savage Worlds system. He has stopped playing video games and instead has been collecting Master of the Universe figures. We have accumulated so many of them I told him I wanted to play a game using them. We played our first session last weekend, and it was so cool!! We recorded it but won't have it up to listen to for a few more days. We've also been listening to a lot of Savage Worlds games in progress. I'll keep everyone posted as we go along.
We have 2 campaigns. The big one and totally written by my son is MOTU Journey of Fate. It is about the Princess of the Moon transported to the planet Etheria (She-Ra's planet) to help She-Ra and the other princesses and eventually to Eternia, He-Man's planet, to help the Sorceress and He-Man.
The second campaign is East Texas University about a college where there are supernatural situations. He won't have to write the story, the GM book is filled with pre-made games to follow, but I know my characters will give it a workout!

Good to know you're all good as far as the virus is concerned. Of course, there's still the seasonal crap going on, which is worse around here now.

Re: Lurker's Lair
If there's a She-Ra and a He-Man, does that mean there's also a He-Ra and a She-Man? I have no knowledge of this particular universe whatsoever, all I know is that there were comic books with He-Man in it and they had He-Man action figures when I was a kid I think, but I wasn't into it at all.

I wasn't really into He-Man or anything related all that much either. I did have a Catle Greyskull playset that we got from a yard sale though, which I used with other toys because it was a pretty big thing and that was awesome back then.

I think it's the host trying to get more revenue, because I've also been getting messages about cookies once in awhile when logging in, and if you don't pay attention and keep your own settings they just switch everything on by default. Which means more spam in your inbox. I'm getting enough junk mail without this site contributing to it as well.

I didn't get a captcha that last time, and I've also never had message spam at all, so I dunno what's going on.
I'm on my 4th run of the 1st chronicle in Your Chronicle now. I'm deliberately holding off on getting going because I'm gonna power up with anchovy sandwiches through gluttony, as well as get gluttony's achievements taken care of, so I can just have stuff outta the way that would otherwise take an inordinate amount of time to do.
The good thing is, once I do get going properly, I should have enough of a starting amount of stat buffs through gluttony that I can farm the king cobra at the desert, which is the last place I can unlock through this chronicle, and that'll mean I can max all currently unlocked monsters.

I don't have any control over the site, it is totally phoned in from the host. But that's why I went with it because I don't have a tech guy anymore. This will be the last site I own.
