Rebellion - man cast back in time

"An ancient temple sits atop a hill in the province of Caserta, in Italy, near the vity of Capua. Despite its age and the fact that it's in a very well-populated area, the temple is almost unexplored and exceptionally well-preserved. The locals seem to keep away from it. My name is Carl, and even though I'm also a rugby outhalf, I'm actually an academic, currently a Roman History lecturer at Oxford.
