For 500 years, the Calradian Empire dominated the continent. Its armies scattered foes before them. The strongholds of proud tribes crumbled beneath its engines of war. From the forests of the north, to the wastes of the south... all was brought beneath the standard of their legions. Brutal as the conquest was, the wise agreed that it brought peace. The land, now untroubled by armies, grew rich. But Empires, like men, grow old. Leaders lose a common cause... Corruption spreads. Old enemies learn the Empire's tricks, and device new ones of their own. Until one day... the bonds holding the empire snap. Then comes the civil war, pitting all against all. A time of hatred... A time of sufferering... But also even in the worst hours, a time of courage and defiance. As new leaders arise, from new places and new peoples, to turn back the tides of destruction... And bring forth a new world, from the ashes of the old...

Spring 16th, 1109
Queen Isigund's army had encountered the Aserai army led by Tariq. The Calradians outnumbered the enemy by about 400 troops. Generally, the Queen used to lead her army actively but this day she was not present on the battlefied - for an obvious reason...
193 Calradians gave their life that day and 306 more were wounded, 4 troops routed. From Queen Isigund's party 20 troops were killed and 64 wounded, one man routed. Calytos the Surgeon, Carsten, Talya Willowbark and Tulag the Knowing were all among the many wounded. The Aserai suffered 326 dead, 1302 wounded and only 4 Aserai troops managed a rout. Emir Radan, Emir Tulul, Adram, Razana, Munim, Danim, Iltas, Emir Iyalas, Hur and Emir Tariq all were taken prisoner by Queen Isigund's troops. Knyaz Wulfur and Vasinya, both Sturgians held captive by the Aserai were released.
And now onto the reason why Queen Isigund was not present on the battlefield...
Her water had already broken while she was still waiting in the camp. Queen Isigund gave birth to her son Anbard and was visited by her husband Carsten as soon as he had recovered enough from his wound on the battlefield and the army visited the nearest town.

The plan of supporting an uprising against the Asera had been fruitless. Now, with a full war declared, there was nothing holding the calradians back from taking the town for themselves. Queen Isigund gave the order and the charge was set in motion...
24 dead, 44 wounded and 4 routed were counted among the Calradian army after the battle. Queen Isigund's party had lost two troops and seven were wounded. Among the wounded were Calytos the surgeon and Queen Isigund herself. Before the Aserai retreated to the keep 206 of them were killed in battle and 306 wounded. The town was spared the traditional plundering after a conquest. Sultan Unquid who had been defending the town with his troops was taken captive by Queen Isigund's forces. One would assume the Khan, Chaghan of the Khuzaits, cursed his luck when only a few hours after declaring war on Calradia his party was caught by Queen Isigund's army...
The battle was a disaster for the Khuzait, they suffered 124 dead and 151 wounded compared to only one dead and four wounded Calradians. It is not documented in the dey Urs chronicles whose troops imprisoned the unfortunate khan - the chronicles only deal with the clan itself and are not known to have recorded events not involving them.

As a result of this, or just as a custom from the Queen's side, the settlement was spared the hardship of being plundered by the victorious troops.

Winter 3rd, 1110
The Aserai army led by Dhiyl tried to retreat in the opposite direction when faced with Queen Isigund's formidable army, only to have their escape route effictively cut off by Lasand's avancing army. Now the Aserai were really caught between a rock and a hard place...
The Aserai fought desperately but they could not stand against the might of Queen Isigund's and Lasand's armies. Still, the enemy inflicted 22 fatal casualties and 44 wounded upon the Calradians, whereof one death was reported in the Queen's party along with 7 wounded, the wounded including Calytos the surgeon, Carsten and Tulag the Knowing. Aserai losses numbered 401 deaths an 294 wounded with 8 troops successfully routing. Queen Isigund's party took Tahya and Emir Sejaron prisoner.

Razih, Aserai Sultanate; Winter 10th, 1110
Queen Isigund and a second, around 1000 heads strong Calradian army had laid siege to the city. The dey Urs chronichlers did not record who the leader of this second army was but in total the Calradiand numbered nearly 3000 troops.
During the siege assualt 39 Calradians were killed and 150 wounded. Queen Iigund lost two troops and 19 were wounded. Among the wounded were Calytos the Surgeon, Carsten and Queen Isigund herself. The Aserai suffered 370 dead and 405 wounded. 140 troops retreated to the keep. There is no record of how the conflict ended exactly, but it can be presumed that the besieged soldiers were covinced to surrender. Queen Isigund's troops had captured Elta, one of the aserai noblewomen. She probably played a vital role in the bloodless end of the siege. And Queen Isigund's reputation as a merciful conquerors probably helped convince the defenders to surrender as well.
